General Services
Medicare funded care plans are available for eligible patients suffering a chronic illness of more than 6 months. This involves a treatment plan made for you by your Doctor and entitles you to five bulk billed visits with a relevant health professional.
Please discuss any of the following type of disorders or symptoms with your GP.
These care plans may include: Diabetes, asthma, skeletal problems, chronic heart conditions, back pain, psychological disorders (referral to a Psychologist can be for any Psychological disorder and you can have up to 12 visits per year. Consultations are not fulfilled but there is a substantial Medical Rebate).
Fees & Billing Arrangements
Fees are payable at the time of consultation by cash, Eftpos, Visa, or MasterCard. The AMA fee structure forms the basis of our billing policy, and is displayed at our reception desk. We presently have a combination of Bulk Billing and Private Fee structures; each doctor specifies their own fees, which may vary from one to another. To clarify, please ask our reception staff.
Appointments & Cancellations
You are required to present your Medicare Card to receive Medicare benefits at the time of your appointment. Appointments for each patient are scheduled 10-15 minutes apart. Every effort will be made to accommodate your preferred time. Emergencies will be given priority. Interpreters are available if required. Extended appointment times are available upon request. Please inform reception if your appointment pertains to minor surgery, medicals, work cover, pap screening, or test results.
We try to run our daily appointment schedule on time, but often there are urgent and complex cases which cause delays. Please check with reception if we appear to be running late. In an endeavour to provide the best medical care for all patients, we ask you to be understanding and co-operative in these instances.
We often have patients waiting for appointments, and so it is important to advise us as soon as possible if you are unable to keep your appointment time. Failure to cancel a doctor’s appointment may incur a fee. Cancellation penalties will apply for doctors and visiting health professionals such as Dietitian, etc. Within 24 hours, full consultation fee, within 48 hours, 50% of consultation fee.
Results Procedure
Revision of your results is important. Make an appointment with reception to discuss these with your doctor. Due to confidentiality issues, no results will be discussed over the phone or handed out.
Recall Reminder System
Committed to preventative care, your doctor will seek your permission to be included on our reminder system. Routinely, we may issue you with a reminder notice offering you preventative health care services appropriate to your condition, e.g. diabetic register, pap screening, asthma register, and aged care assessment programmes. If you do not want to be part of this scheme, please let your doctor or reception know.
Vaccines
Patients are requested to purchase private vaccines immediately prior to consultation and give to the Receptionist immediately upon arrival.
